Hex tap bolts may also be called fully threaded hex cap screws. Like traditional hex cap screws, hex tap bolts are designed for specific applications that require precise tolerances. Hex tap fasteners include no washer face, and they are meant to be used with a nut. Don’t confuse hex tap fasteners with traditional hex cap screws, which need no nut and have a small unthreaded portion just below the fastener’s head.
