A449 type 2 alloy steel 40Cr 7/8" thread 60mm length heavy hex bolt
Heavy hex structural bolts fall under The American Society of Mechanical Engineers’ (ASME) standard category “Fasteners for Use in Structural Applications”. These bolts are for steel-to-steel structural joints in heavy construction applications.
The ASME standard covers heavy hex structural bolt dimensional specifications designated by ASME B18.2.6. The chemical and mechanical specifications included in ASME B18.2.6 are governed by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) designated by ASTM F3125. In 2016, ASTM F3125 replaced ASTM A325 and ASTM A490 which are now grades under the new ASTM F3125 Standard. ASTM A325 and ASTM A490 are still widely used terms throughout the industry.
