Bolts that are larger in diameter or longer in length are band saw cut. Next, A hex head is hot-forged on one end of the steel rod. A National Upsetter is used to forge the heated end of the rod into a hex shaped head.Hex, pan, truss, button, socket cap, and round head screws are measured from right under the head to the end of the threads. Flat head screws are measured from the top of the head to the tip of the threads. Oval head screws are measured from the beginning of the undercut on the head to the tip of the threads.
